Both artists have worked together in the studio since November 1997. Svensson has written all the music. Some songs are several years old. 'Paus' was released on 6th May 1998. The band released the first single Leia featuring a non album track called Sammansvärjningen, its actually a reworked version of an old Kent demo called 'Alpha' that never made it to the 'Isola' album. The single 'Leia' was released in two prints, one with white text on the CD and one with blue text.

Peter Svensson won a Grammy for composer of the year in 1998 for his solo album. The second single off the album was 'Chock'. It featured a cover of the Kent song 'Slutsats' as well as another non album track called 'KB'.

According to Svensson the album is described as miserable depressed. He also said that he name emphasizes that it is a solo project and that the Cardigans continue as a band as usual.

The Peter Svensson/Jocke Berg venture continued when the duo wrote lyrics and music for 'Titiyo'. This resulted in the successfull 2001 album 'Come Along' that sold 500.000 copies and became Titiyos best selling album

In 2001 Paus recorded a cover of the band Eldkvarns song 'Kärlekens tunga', this time with Jocke on vocals. It is featured on a tribute record for Plura, Eldkvarns leading man, recorded for his 50th birtday. The album was called Plura 50 and was sold as a slipcase CD.
